Bride and groom

Winter wedding Photography – Micro Wedding Photography at its best!

Micro Wedding Photography is something that I am being asked alot about – and as a Midlands Wedding Photographer I`ve always believed that weddings should be about two people.

And this Winter Wedding Photography is no exception, it was something really special!

Fran & Jerome booked me at the National Wedding show after seeing me at one of the portfolio sessions there, and it was a great match right from the start.

We actually managed to complete a portrait session for them during the summer, between lockdowns I add, and they swore to me “No matter what happens, we`re getting married in Oct!”…

And they damn well did.

I started off with some fun bridal prep at Frans parents house, this is always a great way to meet the VIP`s at any wedding. Also the family dog played an important part in the portraits, though I feel they were a little put out that they couldn’t join in for the big day!

After that I was over to St Edwards Catholic Church, Kettering to hook up with Jerome and his party. Fran made a grand appearance, especially after one of the bridesmaids stepping on the veil en route to the alter! Jerome went to pieces as she walked down the aisle, it was so lovely to see.

After finishing off the service we got over to the Northampton Golf Club, which the family have strong ties with. And golf clubs, means driving around with buggy’s, and I was able to get some beautiful portraits of the couple. There`s a really romantic spot just by a bridge towards the bottom of the course that we were able to use as the sun went down, which gave us some amazing imagery.

Last year was a big year of disappointments for so many couples, and I am so happy that this couple were able to have their big day!

It made me think that Micro Weddings are really beautiful, intimate and totally worth it.

Bespoke and incredibly special. Weddings in 2020 became about so much more than the party.

And I feel we’re so much stronger for that.
